Garden Internship
LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES AT SPRING CREEK COMMUNAL GARDEN
Immersion in community based, urban agriculture within the city limits of Bozeman, MT.
Traditional, organic row gardening of annual crops and herbs.
Permaculture bed building and growing techniques, including 5 food forests.
Opportunity to grow plants in a sunken greenhouse, a traditional greenhouse and a hoop house.
Work cooperatively with multi-generational members to grow food, medicines and community!
Build soil through traditional compositing, bokashi composting (a fermentation technique), worm composting and biochar.
Food Preservation using fermentation, canning and dehydrating.
Beekeeping using horizontal hives.
Growing plants that specifically support pollinator health.
Care and tending of urban chickens.
Growing and using medicinal herbs.
Connect with local businesses while picking up compostables for the garden.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR 1-2 INTERNS FOR SPRING/ SUMMER/FAll 2017
We’d love it if you:
Commit to working 12 hours a week.
Are community minded and enjoy people of all ages.
Enjoy working hard and getting dirty!
Are able to work in hot, dry conditions and occasional snow.
Do your own dishes.
Have a strong work ethic.
Are able to follow directions and ask for clarification if unclear.
Have a driver’s license...but it’s ok if you don’t!
